Low Viscosity

Synth-X SL is a low viscosity radiopaque bone cement for vertebroplasty, allowing excellent stabilisation of the vertebral body. The very high concentration of zirconium oxide in this cement allows it to be used during vertebroplasty procedures during which continuous radiological monitoring is performed using a scanner or image intensifier. The operator can then immediately follow the flow of cement from the very beginning of filling of the vertebral body, so avoiding the risks of leaks, the most frequently-encountered problem during vertebroplasty procedures. Synth-X SL comes as an ampoule of sterile liquid and a pouch of sterile powder (liquid monomer and powder polymer).

Synth-X SH, made in accordance with the ISO 5833 Standard, is a high-viscosity, ready-to-use cement suitable for immediate and stable fixation of pathological fractures in a vertebral body. TRU II

The cemented TRU II polyethylene cup supports the cemented treatment of the acetabulum.

The TRU II Cup, with its wide range of internal and external diameters, covers a very broad scope of indications. To ensure an optimal fit of the cup in the damaged acetabulum, TRU II Cup is available with an outer diameter in 2 mm increments. All sizes feature the minimum wall thickness of 6 mm required by code.

The special hemispherical outside contour of this cup permits an optimal cement flow between acetabulum and cup with bone loss. To ensure radiographic visibility, all implants are equipped with a surgical steel ring (ISO 5832-1). The dysplasia versions have an added notch and X-ray pin at their uppermost point. To prevent hip dislocation, the internal contour of the cup in the snap-fit version has been designed so that the connection with the push-on head can be released only with considerable force.

REDUX S

REDUX S system with its modular structure is designed for cementless anchoring in the acetabulum.

The spherical outer shell with a flattened pole is made of Ti6Al4V alloy (ISO 5832-3). The surface is rough after being abraded. For REDUX S Cup polyethylene inlays are available in differrent head diameters. A dysplasia inlay is also available. An individual inlay is availbale for every cup size which affords a minimal wall thickness for the outer shell. Primary stability is achieved with a dynamic press-fit.

PRIMO

The Primo Cup is a modular acetabular endoprosthetic system with TPS coating for cementless fixation in the acetabulum. The hemispherical outer cup with flattening of the poles is made of biocompatible TiAl6V4 alloy (ISO 5832-3). The Primo Cup is also available with a CaP coating. The outside diameter of the cup sizes ranges from 44 millimetres to 68 millimetres.

Bipolar/Unipolar Head

The Bipolar Head is suited particularly to the management of femoral neck fractures. The large contact area and highly polished metal surface of the Bipolar Head ensures the best possible protection of acetabular cartilage. Different centres of rotation for the femoral head and outer shell of the Bipolar Head lead to a self-centering of the implant. The removable safety ring provides optimal protection against dislocation. The Bipolar Head can be combined with all available femoral head materials.

The Unipolar Head is suited particularly for the treatment of femoral head fractures in very elderly patients. Because it is easy to work with the Unipolar Head, the stress on the patient is low and the operation duration is shorter. The large diameter prevents dislocation, which is crucial to the rapid mobilisation of the patient. The highly polished metal surface is particularly gentle on the natural acetabulum.

Femoral Heads

When used with modular endoprosthetic hip systems, femoral heads act as the articulation partner between the hip stem and the cup component. Polyethylene components are used as a gliding partner for metal femoral heads.

They can also be used with PE inlays for cementless outer cups or with cemented polyethylene cups. Furthermore, they can be used for bipolar heads with polyethylene inserts. Ceramic femoral heads can, in addition, articulate with ceramic inserts.
